Safety and privacy for parents
Your child makes the book. You own the account, and you decide what happens to it. Here’s what that means, in plain words. The app isn’t out yet; this is how it works when it opens.
We ask your permission first
Before your child scans a single page, we ask a parent or guardian for consent, as the US children’s privacy law (COPPA) requires. You can take it back at any time.
First name only
Your child’s profile is a first name or a nickname, and an age band if you choose. Never a last name, birthday, photo or email address.
No ads, no tracking
The app has no ads and no analytics or tracking tools. This website sets no cookies and uses only Cloudflare’s cookieless page counts.
Books are private
There is no public library and there are no public pages. If you want to share a book, you can make a private link.
A real person checks every book
Someone on our team looks at every page before it prints. A safety check also looks for personal details, like a last name or a school name, and tells you so you can change them.
Photos are cropped, then deleted
A photo of a page can show a hand or a room, so the app keeps only the straightened page. The original photo is deleted after 30 days. Books are kept for a year from their last order, unless you choose to keep them longer.
Download or delete everything
From the privacy center in the app’s grown-up area, you can download every page, caption and book, or delete them all.
AI helps only when asked
“Help me write” runs only when your child asks for ideas, and every suggestion is checked for safety before they see it. During our beta it runs on our own servers, not a third-party AI service.
The details are in our children’s privacy notice for the app and our privacy policy for this website. Questions? Write to [email protected].
